Just a thought: seeing as the song is called emoticon, it might be nice to include a couple of subtle references; why not try thinking about creative ways to use words like colon, bracket, semi-colon, smile, frown, wink, pixel, keystroke etc. Not easy but if you put your mind to it...
I like your idea but I think there are too many wasted lines, for example:
Peace never knows / Neither do I
It always ends up the same
Best if I stay in my place
Time will tell
These lines don't really add anything or just repeat previous lines.
