Hey Gang,
Here's another set of lyrics I'd love your feedback on. I was in Chicago a while back and was struck with the fact of how indifferent most of us are (including myself) towards those less fortunate than us.
Verse 1
You don't know what it feels like to be left out in the cold
And your roofs made of rain
And your dreams down the drain
You wonder why you don't feel it at all
You don't know what it feels like to have the hunger pain
And you're standing in line
But your credit's declined
You wonder why you don't feel it at all
Chorus
With a lack of compassion for a man (…Apathy…)
Another distraction from your plan (…Apathy…)
A look in the mirror reflecting the truth
What if the needy man was you (…Empathy…) what would you do?
Verse 2
You don't know what it feels like to be done before it begins
And you're running the race
But you come in last place
And you wonder why you don't feel it at all
You don't know what it feels like, hopeless and despair
And you pass them by
There's no tear in your eye
And you wonder why you don't feel it at all
Chorus
I don't think I'm a lot dumber than you think that I thought I once was - White Goodman (Dodgeball)
howdy!
great stuff, not a whole lot to it, but it doesn't really need anything, but you still could put in a character, an "In The Ghetto" type of thing would be cool
I like the flow of the song, you dance with two or three points and drive it home with that one repeated phrase, kudos
great job!
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.
-Mitch Hedburg
Did you see that!
Thanks for the reply!
I know there's not a lot of meat lyrically speaking, but I'm glad you like it.
