This song I wrote a while ago. I figure any man grew up with a bb gun can relate to it. Its pretty simple and easy to sing.

v1
I got it for my birthday.
My first B.B. gun.
Daddy taught me how to use it.
Be carefull with it son.
v2
I'd tuck it real tight,
Underneath my arm.
Open up the back door.
Run across our farm.
Chorus
I was a mighty hunter.
With that b.b. gun.
I'd jump off the schoolbus.
To the house I'd run.
Grab it off the gunrack.
Check the saftey, and I'd go.
I was the king of the forest.
'Tell mamma called me home.
v3
Just like Davey Crokett.
I'd give that gun a twirl.
Like he hunted bear.
I'd be hunting squirrel.
v4
I'd stalk every corner.
In our ten acre woods.
I knew the trails better.
Than I knew my nieghborhood.
Bridge
I loved that B.B. gun,Clean it everyday.
Make sure that it was empty.Put the gun away.
Chorus
I was a mighty hunter.
With that B.B. gun.
I'd jump off the schoolbus.
To the house I'd run.
Grab it off the gunrack.
Check the saftey and I'd go.
I was the king of the forest.
'Tell mamma called me home

it's very simple, and fun. I like it, it's entertainging to read three or four times, I think that the squirrel line was very good. It's a very good anecdote, so the only thing I can suggest is to treat it playfully, and not as a metaphor or life message
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.
