Mamma still looks at Daddy

v1
Mamma still looks at Daddy
Like the day they met
Daddy still looks at Mamma
Knows he never will forget
The day they stood in that courthouse
And said their wedding vows
Only wishes he knew back then
What he knows right now
(ch)
Mamma and Daddy are still in love
After forty years they thank the lord above
Daddy always said what you give is what you get
Mamma still looks at daddy like the day they met
v2
She was such a young girl
With a baby on the way.
He was running wild and free,
Until their wedding day
They always stayed together.
Thru the bad times and the good.
The way she looked at daddy
I guess he understood
(ch)
Mamma and Daddy are still in love
After forty years they thank the lord above
Daddy always said what you give is what you get
Mamma still looks at daddy like the day they met
(br)
I can only hope and pray
that I'll find a girl someday.
That looks at me like mamma looks at him.

(outtro)
Raise a little family
remember I'm not wild and free.
Always look into my lovers eyes.
Knowing there is no regrets.
She still looks at me like the day we met.
Its bound to happen, just hasn't happened yet.

Yeah' mamma still looks at daddy, like the day they met.

lyrics belong in songs, poems bolong in bookstores

I like the song alot.

My only thought on it is the outro....

I understand how you have the "remember I'm not wild and free" line relating to the line in v1, but I'm thrown by the "remember". could be nit picking, but I don't remember anything about this character :)

what if you said something like...

Start a little family
bring up a child like they raised me

...that's pretty lousy...but that's all I got right now.

Later!

I don't think I'm a lot dumber than you think that I thought I once was - White Goodman (Dodgeball)
