Would anyone consider putting a melody to this for me and co singing it with me , we can do it via the net with recordings, I have cakewalk studio that I use here for my recordings

Midnight blue

he

Midnight, blue satin, shimmers, in the night
Silhouettes born of the soft candle light
I watch, I wait, your breath, the rise and fall
Mirrored in the shadows on the wall

he

Midnight, blue satin, molded, to your thighs
Rippling, waves, ebb and flow to your cries
A fluid, moving river, no turning of the tide
Bet yet, still some mystery, a deeper part you hide

he

Midnight, blue satin, etched in my brain
Physical ecstasy, emotional pain

she

Midnight blue satin, hide my endless love for you
Shadowed, eyes closed, emotions shut from view
Scared feelings float, above these rushing waves
Not wanting you to see the depth of love I crave

she

Midnight blue satin, tears burn in my eyes
Would you turn on the tide, knowing what I hide
My hands explore your body, I feel the rising heat,
I wrap myself around you, lost in lust, we meet

she

Midnight, blue satin, etched in my brain
Physical ecstasy, emotional pain

he

Midnight, blue satin, tossed, on the floor
Bodies, entwined, like waves caressing the shore
I, hear your cry, I come to your call
Mirrored in the shadow of the wall

she

midnight, blue satin, etched in my brain
Physical ecstasy, emotional pain

Go well

Jamir,

Let me look it over and think about it and I'll get back to you.

Hey Jamir,

I took up you're challenge and worked out some chords
for your beautiful song. (Which is great by the way)

Took a few small liberties and made some edits
to help help it fit the music. I hope you don't mind
They are what I might have suggested if I were
critquing it.

Also changed the title slightly because I seem to remember
an old Pop/Rock song called Midnight Blue :?:

I made a Intrumental recording and posted it on Soundclick
Let me know if you think it is something you can work with or not.

Here is the lyric and chord sheet.

Midnight Blue Satin

HE
Em........B7.........Em
Em..........................C.................G
Midnight, blue satin, shimmers, in the night
Em...............................D
Silhouettes born of the soft candle light
Em.....................................C..................G
I watch, I wait, your breath, the rise and the fall
C......................G.....................D..........Em........B7.......Em
Mirrored in the shadows on the wall

HE
Em............................C...................G
Midnight, blue satin, molded, to your thighs
Em..............................................D
Rippling, waves, ebb and flow to your cries
Em..............................C................G
A fluid, moving river, no turning of the tide
C.......................G........................D
Your mystery's the deeper part you hide

HE
Em........................C..................G
Midnight, blue satin, etched in my brain
Em....................B7............Em
Physical ecstasy, emotional pain

SHE
Em.........................C....................G
Midnight blue satin, hides my love for you
Em..............................................D
Shadowed, eyes closed, emotions shut from your view
Em....................................C..................G
Scared feelings float, above these rushing waves
C............................G...................D...............Em.....B7......Em
Not wanting you to see the depths I crave

SHE
Em..............................C...............G
Midnight blue satin, tears burn in my eyes
Em.....................................D
Would you turn on the tide, knowing what I hide
Em.......................................C...................G
My hands explore your body, I feel the rising heat,
C....................G........................D
I wrap myself around you, lost in lust, we meet

SHE
Em.........................C.................G
Midnight, blue satin, etched in my brain
Em......................B7...........Em
Physical ecstasy, emotional pain

HE
Em..........................C..................G
Midnight, blue satin, tossed, on the floor
Em......................................D
Bodies, entwined, waves caressing the shore
Em.....................C...................G
I, hear your cry, I come to your call
C...................G....................D
Mirrored in the shadow of the wall

SHE
Em...........................C................G
midnight, blue satin, etched in my brain
Em......................B7...........Em......B7... Em......................
Physical ecstasy, emotional pain

Take Care

Great collaboration! :D :D

Good to see a set of lyrics turned into a song like that. Kudos to you both for your work. 8)

I played it through and liked what came out at the first attempt - which seemed like a good sign!

I'd love to hear how either of you envisaged it, because a set of chords can be played and interpreted in a lot of different ways.

I had no set idea of what I'd do when I started playing, but it came out very Leonard Cohenish in style. Of course this could be completely different from what everybody else had in mind!

Can anyone else give any clues about how they saw it sounding - or being treated? Particularly if they can work out a feel for the song before listening to the sound file. :)

EDIT: I just listened to The Celt's sound file and a) enjoyed it a lot and b) was intrigued to find that it was very similar in pace and style to the way that I'd run through the song sheet above.

Good fun to do. :D

Thanks Chris,

I made some changes and sent them on to Jamir.
Can't wait to see how this ends up.

So far this collaroration has been a interesting
and enjoyable experience.

I'd like to see more of them going on.

There are many good writers here that I think would
work together well.

Sorry it has taken me so long to post again on this topic. My hands are really full at the moment.

The response has been great and I am working on a few ideas at the moment.
Thanks to John, Vic and Manontheside, for the imput so far.

Haven't been able to hear Vic's interpretation yet, and I need to get last weeks assignment recorded before I tackle this project so please bear with me ok.
What has amazed me, is, most people are hearing it the same way.

When I write I just write lyrics and then think of melodies later which is my weak side !!!!!!! so this is a really great project for me, and if other instrumentals come in, I will definately try putting words to them all so no work is done for nothing.

Thanks again for the responses

Jamir, if melodies are your weak side, I'd say you're in pretty good shape - I always love your melodies. It's good to see you back around - I can't wait to see how this turns out.
