Heres a song I jsut cooked up. I pretty much have rough music to go with it. It's a little odd becuase there arn't really any verses in the normal sense. Although musically I repeat the same thign for the 'verse', the melody and rhythm is different. Thus I labled the verses 'A' and 'B', and 'C' is the bridge.

Let me know what you think.

"A
There goes Captain Miller
Dressed in Sunday best
Seems its time again
Gonna lay another man to rest

And I try hard to see
Is this what they meant by ‘be all you can be'?

The men are standing in the yard
Another afternoon of staying on the guard
They know what they are fighting for

As for me, well I'm closing that door

Chorus
I see the night ignite like a cherry bomb
The whole world is tuning in
Even though it's quite a view
I'd rather be home with you

Behind me you see the city fire
As I talk into my microphone
Even though it's quite a view
I'd rather be home with you

B
I wander through the empty road
I can wish that it would take me home
But with the money in my pocket and the video crew
It's time to do what I came here to do

Chorus

C
Sitting in the dust
Wondering why we have this lust for death for life for glory for shame
You can make up your own excuses or take the blame
"

The king of rock, some say lives
the lizard king, is surely dead
the king of France, lost his head
the King of Kings... bled

The story of the song was excellent, but it did not leave much to the imagination to the listener. Good songs should provide room for the song admirers to picture what they think the song is about, which is one of the main characteristics that make music an art! Don't get me wrong, most of the lines were very creative! But the song was good and I loved the end because it kept me in suspense about what will become of them. It allowed me to imagine the end on my own (which is what I was trying to get at about the rest of the song.)

P.S. keep writing!

There's a thin fine line between hate and rage.
Now watch the line be crossed and break!

Thanks for the input. In truth, most of my songs are rather vauge, but I htink this is one of the only ones where I tried telling a story...mabye thats why it's so explicit.

Mabye I should put a explicit lyrics sticker on my cd.
