Good information here, just wish I had read before I cut my nails this weekend. But after yard work on Saturday and filthy nails and company coming I did the bad habit of raching for the clippers. I wanted to start finger picking, now I will just have to pratice with my tips and wait for the nails to grow back. Thanks for the tip on the emery board, I will get the wife to get on for future use.

last night - playing in the pub - the nail on my middle finger split... thought oh oh, going to have to bite that off.... as luck would have it, the Mrs decided to call in after bingo....and of course she had an emery board with her....my heroine!!!!
Anyway an emery board is now sitting in my little bag of tricks, along with spare strings, bridge pins, plecs....even though I never use them... etc etc etc....
