Was playing along to a CD that came with an instruction (Berklee Instant Guitar) but have to have a break as the baby fell asleep!

I find it hard to follw the book as each track isnt long enough, need more time with each 'lesson'
But I'm getting there!
Anyway, heres my new source of sore fingers!

Nice looking guitar. What model is that?

Lovely guitar! Fender's are great!
Here's my Fender (I call her Fiona or Fifi for short). She's a DG22

That's my bobtail cat, Skyler, hanging out in the back.

Nice guitar! I've been in the market for a new acoustic guitar. I've played some fenders at GC and like the feel of them. But how do they stand up against the test of time? Any problems after you've had them for a while?

I've had my DG22 for a little over 3 years now and, to me, it sounds better now than it did when it was new........... of course, that could possibly have something to do with my playing ability sounding better now than it did three years ago!!! :D I don't believe you can go wrong with a Fender. They're excellent guitars.......... most people think Strats or Tele's when they think Fender, but they also make wonderful acoustics!
Love that mandolin Elektra|!

Me, too!!!!! And, thanks!

Minorkey, as we in the south would say: "that guitar shore is purty!" :D But seriously, it's a beauty. I absolutely love Fender guitars, electric and acoustic, and I really like yours.

Nice, at first I thought it was the same as mine, but mine is a DG-4... I wonder what the difference is? Probably about 1.

martin-6,

I would think the difference may be in the tonewood used. Mine is Basswood throughout, (with a nato neck and rosewood fingerboard/bridge) a strange choice as its a very soft wood, easily damaged, and very light, but it sounds nice! Does the DG-4 has a compensated saddle?

On a different note, do mandolins usually have a dot at the 10th fret instead of the 9th? I saw a thing on frets.com once where a guy chopped a bit out of the fretboard to move an inlay dot to an adjacent fret.

Yes, the dots on a mandolin are at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th (double dots), 15th and 17th frets.
