An old song, but I'm familiar with Bette Midler's version, not so old.
Some nice picking and singing. I really enjoyed listening to you.

I'm a huge John Prine fan (no big secret around here  )
This is a great cover. Let's hear more.

John
Oh wow Dan. That was done just perfectly all the way. :D
I haven't used a capo for such a long time and don't have one with me here. :(
So I was wondering if you used one, where's it at, and BTW the guitar and voice sound great. 8)
Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Wow
If I could download that, it would be on my iPod.
I was familiar with the Joan Baez version and even R.E.M.
I hadn't heard it by John Prine . . . but now it's on my iPod.
Great cover!
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

Outstanding performance of Prine. I,m ashamed to say I'm only doing one Prine song right now (The Sins of Mephisto). Listening to you reminds me that I need to add some more of his material to my song list.
