mikespe got started when I was in grad school and I started my website related to physical education. It used to be called Mike's PE Site. I eventually registered the domain name mikespe.com and one or two variations of that name.

Mine is a play on words in German - but you'd have to speak German to get the joke.

Hey lederhoden

I did German in High school (many many years ago) and your name is very funny if I have it right

it actually makes up two words

the first being leather

the second well I won't tell but very very funnny

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am

I got my nick from my Uncle. When I was a teenager he always gave me one of my favorite xmas presents. He had a HUGE music collection and would get 10 blank tapes and record some rock or metal albums for me. Didn't cost him much and I got to listen to groups that I might not have heard otherwise. Looked forward to it every year.

Anyway, on the back of the tape case he always wrote "Another Crank-N-Jam Production". Seemed like a fitting nick for a guitar site so it stuck. :)

My initals are GMT, like the timezone. At work, we have to put our initals and datestamps in code comments when we change things, like this:

// 2006 JAN 21 GMT Fixed a bug here

And some of my co-workers asked me why I insisted on using Greenwich Mean Time and why didn't I put my initials in the comment. Hence, TimeZone. (or TZ for short.)

My nickname consists of two parts:

"Ar", the famous battlecry of my favourite cartoon figure: John the armless pirate.
"jen" Plural of the Japanese currency. One Yen, two Jen.

My real name is actually 'Afschrift', which I hate to use because it's a vulgar term in the ancient Batavian culture near southern Hawaii.

gazwoz is pretty simple. Gaz being short for my christian name and Woz being short for my surname! A simple nickname for a simple mind!
