Congrats jimh,
we had our son 3 days after my 40th and decided to stop with our daughter almost 2 years later.
i can't imagine having another at my age now (48 also)
I understand. I thought my wife was losing her mind wanting to do this (she's 10 years younger, though). But now that it's a reality, I wouldn't have it any other way.

congrats mate
and congrats to your wife as well

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
Congrats, man - that's great.
I'm 48 also, but my "little girl" is grown and has given me 3 beautiful grandkids. I love them to death but not sure I'd want to start over again. More power to you, and best wishes.

Last kid is moving out in June! The wife and me are looking forward to stripping naked and screaming like banshees any time we want!
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming......
like the passengers in his car.
Congratulations you old dog!!!!
Congratulations Jim!
Just thinking - you're a year younger than me, between us, me and the Mrs have 8 kids and 16 (soon to be 17) grandkids; your kid's due in October, the youngest of our kids'll be 21 the same month - I hope for your sake it's true what they say, that kids keep you young - right now I feel about 90!
:D :D :D

Hey Vic,
You should consider for applying to the National Fatherhood Initiative. -

Steven Covey has been awarded by it too.
Great news. Myself I'm 46 and my little guy is 20, the others are 21 and 26. Working on the grand kids now, first one just arrived. (Belongs to the 26 year old) I don't know if they keep you young or make you old. Right now mine are making me feel old.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.
