I have to say it would be "This is Spinaltap" That one still cracks me up  --the dog
Ive just been watching "Walk the Line" , the Johnny Cash story this has got to be one of my favourites now I think. Other than that how could you go past "The Blues Brothers" .
Paul
Ray for me, incredible movie, great acting by Foxx, emotional story.
Walk the Line was also great, Joaqium...? Phoenix was incredible in that.
The Glenn Miller Story
The Legend of 1900
This Is Spinal Tap
The Concert for Bangladesh
Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii (I think I have to see it again to be sure if was really as good as I remember)
I suggest anyone who hasn't seen the documentary, "Rock School", rent it immediately! Not School of Rock! This is an incredibly well done documentary about a music school in Philadelphia. Some of it is disturbing, but it is a great movie.
Here is the link:
Sympathy for the Devil
Cotton Club
Music of the Heart
Buena Vista Social Club

"Don't wanna ride no shootin' star. Just wanna play on the rhythm guitar." Emmylou Harris, "Rhythm Guitar" from "The Ballad of Sally Rose"
The Commitments, one of the best music movies ever!!
Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii (I think I have to see it again to be sure if was really as good as I remember)
It was that good.
You also need to throw in The Wall as well.
But for movies that are not directly band related, it would have to be Mr Holland's Opus for me. That movie is my high school band director, to a T. I always seem to get something in my eye while watching it...
The Blues Bros
Eddie & the Cruisers 1 & 2
Pink Floyd: The Wall
Standing in the Shadow of Motown is another great one. Focuses on the Musicians behind the great motown vocal groups
