gnease - thanks for the suggestions. It's something to think about.
Does anyone know what the differences are, sound wise, between the ES 335 and the ES 339? Does the difference in size affect the sound?
Better yet, does anyone know of a Gibson ES forum? I stumbled across a Les Paul forum the other day, an ES forum might be useful.

Another guitar to have a good look at is the Yamaha SA2200. I've played a couple and they were just beautiful guitars - supeb finish and a really nice neck. Comes in at about 1/2 the price of an ES335, I think.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
