Was at a friends house listening to some Weezer and i just loved some of the guitar sounds this guy has...he was using a wah wah but also had a great intense (yet clear) distortion...i was listening to a mixed c.d. my friend made... he told me the songs were from their new album, pinkerton , green, and blue albums....anyone familiar with this band and or him? he's a great guitarist....and i love his sound.
Weezer has been around for quite a while. They were on hiatus until the release of the last album. Cuomo took time off to get a degree (economics?) at Harvard.
As for Cuomo's playing and sound: Yeah, it's good, but I enjoy the songwriting and overall performance so much that my attention isn't immediately drawn to the guitars -- which is the way I think it should be.
