Don't feel bad GrungSunset, I'm constantly finding songs that I couldn't stand when I had a lot less gray that I hear now and actually like. A lot of those old disco tunes fall into that category for me, hated them back then, but whenever I hear an old Bee Gees song now (probably way before your time), I can't help but find myself singing along...don't know if its a case of nostalgia (sp?) or I've just put aside the stereotype's I had back then and can just enjoy it for what it is (ie. entertainment).

Now I just have to figure out where I can get hold of a set of platform shoes, big collared shirt, and a gold chain.

... we won't file Kitty there (they're actually musicians) and in deference to Elecktra, Four non-blondes (ditto.)

I was playing Bigger Better Faster More in the car last week. First time I'd played it in ages, and I don't think I ever played it more than a low single figures number of times

It's actually very good IMHO. The last track or two are a bit sus, but the rest of it sounded stonkingly good.

One for the naff collection - Alvin Stardust's definitely decidedly dodgy cover of Move It. From the album "Rock With Alvin" which also had decidedly dodgy covers of Twenty Flight Rock and C'mon Everybody. Yes, I've got the album, so shoot me; I was young and impressionable.

Boney M's Night Flight to Venus and Rasputin. Really annoying songs but to make it even worse my grade 9 gym teacher would put this on as we would do our beginning of class run around the gym in the bad weather (in the good weather we would be outside). Burned the d@mn thing into my poor adolescent brain all that winter.

O my I wish I could remember the name of it. There was a song about a year ago, it was popular rock/metal and they played it on the station about every half hour. It started as a very cool, normal rock song and then maybe 20 seconds in the fellow starts screaming.. Like the deep demon belching screaming. The rest of its 4 or 5 minute life is this same screaming.. E'Gads I couldnt stand it.. The name isnt important though, surely you understand the type.

However, if I recall the name of the song or band I will add it later.

I think that description fits pretty much every song they'd play at a quaint little bar in my home town called The Krazy House. I frequented from the age of about 13, for some reason they had lots of nasty bouncers but never seemed to check ID. Some of my friends seemed to know these songs, even to the point of distinguishing one from another. I just got very drunk and <enter general yoofful behaviour here>.

I would like to add songs with annoying sound effects. Stuff like synths sound cool, at least to my ears, even heard a song with machine noises, kinda like a rivet gun in the background that sounded cool. But I've yet to hear a song that sounded cool because it had the sound of dogs barking in the background. Who cares who let the dogs out, catch them, put them back in and keep them from barking.

Pink Floyd - Dogs. About the 4:57 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnDaiAZ3Z9A Edit: Its a long song. Here's part 2 for anyone with nothing to do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKcCKeGf0AY&feature=related

Well, I guess it still doesn't sound cool "because it had the sound of dogs barking in the background", but at least this one's not so annoying. :)

I agree with you. It doesn't help the song or sound cool, but it's definitely not annoying.

Anything by Jessica or Ashley Simpson
Anything by Washed up White one hit wonder rappers (Anyone remember "Ice Bay Ice"?)
The Macarena and the Chicken Dance

Hey - come on! I thought this thread was about music

I have a confession to make.

Let's say I put on Dylan's Blood on the Tracks. OMG what a great album!!

Tangled Up in Blue,
Simple Twist of Fate,
You're a Big Girl Now,
Idiot Wind ,
You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go,
Meet Me in the Morning

Ahh great songs - BUT THEN:

Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts

Ok - it's not a bad song - but it is just SO ANNOYINGLY wrong in between theese other songs </rant>

...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...

I'd have to say anything that's been produced from 1996 to (insert current date here)
