Chorus
His parents tried to send him to the synagogue
He never did arrive to learn the Word of God
Out in the woods; he followed the breeze
Swimming in the lake and climbing in the trees
Gulping down the days; dreaming through the nights
Rambunctious, zestful Mordecai
Behavior modificationists were brought in at his parents' request
They modified and modified and modified some more
They modified and modified and modified him out the door
chorus
So they called in the psychoanalysts to unblock all his blockages
They unblocked and unblocked and unblocked some more
They unblocked and unblocked him out the door
chorus
The Great Rabbi came to town
He sent the parents out and sat the boy down
He held the boy close; silently to his heart
To hear the Word of God cause that's where is starts
So Mordecai heard it in the synagogue
The heart beat holds the Word of God
The Word of God is one with the woods and the breeze
One with the lake and one with the trees
So gulp down the days; dream through the nights
Rambunctious, zestful Mordecai
So gulp down the days; dream through the nights
Rambunctious, zestful Mordecai
James, I don't know how you can put together great lyrics and a polished recording so fast.
I like how you changed the words in the chorus the last time.

Hi Andy and Paul,
Thanks for the listens and posts. :D

Couldn't imagine how this was going to sound on reading it. And Mordecai! What a title. I was sure it was going to be a metal song about Lord of the Rings or something like that. Great job. Loved the one word response, too- "bouncy." This kinda reminded me of They Might Be Giants (that's a good thing).
Hi Stephen,

LOL well there was a Morgoth. Throw on a Molly Hatchet album cover and metal would fit nicely 8)

Not a bad assocation.
Thanks for the listen and post :D
