Ms. Lily White

She was a looker, the best in the land, she had seven men she kept in hand
In the middle of the night  and during daylight   the divine Lily white

Doc would arrive on a Monday at dawn, with his little black bag, looking worn and torn
From working all day   but she had a way   Lily knew what to say

Tuesday she would throw all her flowers away, as her man with the allergies came her way
Sneezing everywhere   without a care   cos his Lily was there

On Wednesday it was Grumpys turn, but Lily would make him laugh so he would return
With an awful frown   eyes to the ground   back to the best girl in town

Happy was her Thursday treat, this little guy was ever so sweet
With his wondrous grin   and legs so thin   Lily adored him

Friday was always a hard working night, trying to put at ease her bashful knight
He would always turn red   and turn his head   when she undressed for bed

Lily had Sleepy next in store, after all her hard work the night before
Saturday was easy night   a sleepy delight   for Ms. Lily White

Sunday was Dopeys special day, not very clever but he sure had a way
Of making Lily smile    with his unique style   for Lily he woud walk a mile

So we have a looker and seven males, now we need a moral to our little tale
Of Lily White   whos busy tonight   wrong or right

Well she thinks variety is the spice of life, even though all the men want her for their wife
But that would not do   cos there are too few   with Ms. Lilys           point of view.

Not much imagery here but it was sure fun to write  ;D
Go well

This is very clever stuff, both yourself and Alpaca make the task look very easy. I might see if I can come up with something myself. Wednesday (the first line) was difficult when I sang it. Other lines were less troublesome and could be made to work quite easily. However, you may have a melody that already works fine. I ended up playing these chords over it:-

G / C / Am / D /

G / C / Am D G /
Richard.

I like it, very clever.  And I agree, you do make it look easy.

Bizarre. Last year we turned Snow White and Cinderella into Heroin addicts. Now Snow White's a streetwalker.

I couldn't get hold of it as a song, but it was fun to read.

Thanks people,
think of a melody similar to the first few lines of The Ghetto ( Elvis Presley ) for those to young to know... for the first two lines . The third line has pauses between each phrase.

Great job as usual! Those seven work together in the diamond mines all day.  Doesn't that cause a bit of jealousy on their part? Can't imagine them all keeping it a secret from each other.

The last time a film crew made it into their mine, it was tremendously brilliant with sparkling gems, so I imagine Lily would be foolish to marry any one of them, at least from a financial standpoint anyway.  She's got a pretty good gig going, methinks.

The Elvis reference helped me understand your meter
intentions better.  I really liked it.  Had the feel of
a dirty joke that never got dirty.  I think thats a compliment.  :-/

Poor Bashful got left out!!   :'(    But then again, you've got to have room for Prince Charming, no?

I particularly like the line "Happy was her Thursday treat" for some reason. It just clicks.

Peace

Read again David, "friday was her 'Bashful' knight.  She just didn't capitalize it so it doesn't stand out. ;)

Please excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean when you say meter?

And again, great song Jamir

Hi'a All
Well the meter is the beat or rhythm that is costant during the song,  for example
Mar   y      had      a        little      lamb
Da    de      da     de       da de      da
It's  fleece  was white   as    snow
De    da      de    da        de      da

.... and as a brilliant Maxwell said Bashful was Fridays trick, no rocks needed David, we love you just the way you are !

.... a dirty joke that never got dirty.  thanks for the compliment
