I saw Alexisonfire on sunday; punk rock band Anti-flag was one of the openers. They're known for preachy political punk. I think punk rock is music that is supposed encourage you to think for youself. What I see is bands that use their position to tell you what to think, and kids more than willing to parrot it willingly. So here is my contradiction inspired lyrics. Set this to some solid 80's hardcore guitar and some gang vocals, I think.

I like what you've done here, it fits the assignment well. I'm definitely hearing this one as a punk song, having just played / sung my first punk(ish) song at a recent gig I can really hear this one in my head. Your chorus is excellent. Good work

I like it - love the idea/message ... and you do it well. The only line that didn't quite mesh with the rest of it for me (in flow, not meaning) was "Can't think critically" ... to me, it sticks out just a little bit - I think it's because all of the rest of the lines in the song I could imagine in any of those punk songs - just put together in yours to show the hypocrisy ... but that particular line I can't ... it seems a little more prose to me or something - and with the verse ending on that line it emphasizes it, I think ... of course, it's very minor - not a big thing (and could be just me). good song :-)
