I don't have a song yet, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I picked the cliche "Life sucks and then you die." This is gonna be fun. What should I go for? I'm thinking an ironic number done in a Peter Paul and Mary style. Or maybe a childrens song.
Folksy and ironic gets my vote, sounds like fun. I wish I had time for this one :?
Hmm, while I certainly can see it as a folky ironic song, my personal preference would lend me to vote for punk rocky / emo sounding, but then it might go from being ironic to just depressing lol

I picked love song ..
I have a some other lines for this as I was going to pick it also ...
Life sucks and then you die
Married you thats' when we lied
All the angels bowed heads and cried
Life sucks and then you die
A real romantic feel to it hey
Trevor
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
Why not an ironic punk song?
Peace
While we're talking about irony, I came across this the other day... it's just barely connected, but hey, I can't stop watching it and thought I'd share  (might be a little strongly worded and un-PC for some )

Seen that before - very funny! Pop-up video, the programme that used to be on VH-1, did something similar....ironic in a way, because the prog's selling point - the info pop-ups - actually rendered it unlistenable....."Is(POP)n't (POP) it (POP) i(POP)ro(POP)nic(POP) (POP)(POP)(POP)(POP)......
As for the song.....I'd wait till you got either some lyrics, or some idea of the music, then decide....
:D :D :D

Man, I miss pop-up video. They had exactly my sense of humour for most things and I've always had a bad trivia habit
Ok here's the song: I aimed for folky ironic, i got what i got.

Oh when I was a child my grandma called to me
She said I have a secret for you and it will set you free
Another day will come along just like today
But it will be a little worse in each and every way
Life sucks and then you die
Don't you ever wonder why
Those weeping willows always cry cry cry
Life sucks and then you die
As a young man my father pulled me aside
And in a quiet voice admitted that he had always lied
When he said good morning to me, but I should know
That every new morning is a new and depressing lo-ow
Now I am a father with my own son today
A light shines in his eyes as I watch him run and play
The time has come that I must talk to him so sweetly
And be sure his optimism is crushed completely
Hey Dave,
great song mate, really enjoyed the mp3 .
cheers
Paul
Bravo bravo Dave ...

My son aged 14 was sitting beside me as I listened to it ..
For a 14 year to say "yeah kool" It must be kool ..
