i've been rambling so long
words have lost meaning
i guess they're important
but i can't find the feeling
this jungle's turned to desert
the voice of ghosts in the wind
but there's nothing here to hold me
no enemies or friends
there's never a path when everything's flat
and you can't go home again
i remember when i knew why
people laughed or cried
now my thoughts just seem to echo
through this empty countryside
this jungle's turned to desert
the voice of ghosts in the wind
but there's nothing here to hold me
no enemies or friends
there's never a path when everything's flat
and you can't go home again
i've seen the moonlight on the ocean
i've seen mountains touch the sky
but all i see is oblivion
in the reflection of my eyes
this jungle's turned to desert
the voice of ghosts in the wind
but there's nothing here to hold me
no enemies or friends
there's never a path when everything's flat
and you can't go home again
This is such a kick a$$ song! That's the only way to explain it. It was the best one I've seen from you and it sounds to me like something Tool would write. I had a harder rock tune (not just screaming and yelling) in my head when I read it and it sounded awesome. That's all I have to say right now. Keep it up!
There's a thin fine line between hate and rage.
Now watch the line be crossed and break!

True, it has that Eulogy feeling.
Really good job and you have some good imagery in there, but just a question: Where's the travelling imagery? I only found one word that pointed towards anything near it. But really good job, anyway.
Behold! The great northern viking's pinnacle of evolution! Behold my wavy blonde locks, my icy blue eyes and my muscular physique! Behold my.. screw this, I'm going to McDonald's.
Started with a great couplet....nice double meaning there, so you had my attention straight away.....
You didn't throw an awful lot of travelling imagery in, but it did manage to sustain the lost and lonely feeling I got from this....
"there's never a path when everything's flat
and you can't go home again".....
maybe these two lines would read better like this....
"There's never a path where everything's flat,
To lead you home again"....
:D :D :D

Great song!
I like the way you handled the traveling imagery. Seems you took a more subtle approach yet when reading it I still felt a sense of movement.
