I didn't use the actual title in either of these.... I went the arty (read lazy) route. I still tried to capture the spirit of the title though.

Scratchmonkey's "Going Nowhere, Somewhere In Southern California"

Im going nowhere.. and the sunshine is getting to me
Wish i was somewhere without beaches or palm trees
Southern California looks like heaven.. i know
But there's someplace that I'd rather be

Pierson's "Muted Mouths And Deafened Ears"

You're moving you lips but the words don't come out
And you're almost rid of that taste in your mouth
The smell of cold sweat and the sound of the rain
"Just close your eyes now... you wont feel a thing"

Hey, Optimist,

I liked California. Your words fit the title nicely, even though you don't use it directly.

I wasn't as keen on the 2nd, but I did like the way you subtly worked in the other senses as well. I didn't get where the rain part came from though.

Nice work.

The rain part comes from the verses....... they just haven't been written yet.

Glad to see someone used mine (I think we all are). I liked both of 'em, especially the first one.

There's a thin fine line between hate and rage.
Now watch the line be crossed and break!

Well done Marv! Excellent take on both choices. I hope someone will take your chorus for So. Cal. and work up some verses for it. That one's been like a burr to me for some time now.
