Whispers in a dream
© Ja'mir : Scratch: Marv 2004
The view is... so beautiful.
From the bottom of this puddle
I never even noticed I'd been crying
Time, go backwards, I left myself behind
as your memory rippled forward
in the shadows of my mind
Just whispers in a dream
Come to life in my mind
……………………Or reality
what will I wake to find
maybe just a dream within a dream
And your voice is so musical
from deep inside this tunnel,
I swear I never noticed you were lying
Time, go backwards, I believed every line
of the whispered conversations
in the shadows of my mind
Chorus
My mind is so fanciful
In dreams there is no trouble
I didn't notice that our love was dying
Time go backwards, so I can see the signs
Of the love I thought was perfect
In the shadow of my mind
Chorus
Go well Ja'mir

Jamir,
I have to listen to this a couple more times before I can give you any kind of decent critique of it. (or even an opinion). But just out of curiosity, where did you get the number 146? Was that the number of views when you posted your reminder?

Ja'mir, that site won't work for me. it won't play the mp3s and it frustrates me. i'm justpouting, but i wanna hear your stuff!
Hey Rue,
Are you trying to play the files directly from the site? I always download them to my machine, and then use Winamp to play them. (Windows media player works as well) or, if you're on Linux, XMMS is good.

you're a genius scratch!
Hi Ja'mir,
OK, you left me speechless. This is absolutely beautiful. It probably needs some work in the mixing and such, to even out the volumes, but I'm pretty ignorant about all that stuff. The music is very good, but then I'm a big fan of your lilting, picking style anyway. I always feel like I need to speed up the tempo on your songs for about the first 30 seconds, but then gradually I ease into the tempo, and everything's right. It's like a swimming pool, cold when you first jump in, but after a moment or two, it's perfectly relaxing. Your music forces people to chill out.
I know he has way too many irons in the fire at the moment, but it'd be interesting to hear Marv have a go at this one. Your styles are very different, and I love both of them.
Thanks for posting this, it was really truly an enjoyable listen. Any word on that demo yet?

note to Rue: umm... no I'm not. But thanks for saying so anyways!
Hi'a Scratch,
Thanks a lot for the imput.... yip i agree the mixing needs work and it needs something else in the background other than my guitar. but this was really for you and Marv to hear what the lyrics sounded like to the melody ( seeing as it is written by all three of us )
I would also like to hear Marv's take on this ..... that is if he likes the melody line. I'll wait and see what he thinks, I think he is really busy at the moment so don't want to hassle him to much ... still waiting for midnight blue to come my way, love the melody he worked out for that one and it will be one to look out for !!!
Go well
Ja'mir
P.S. yes 146 was the number of views between my first and second post.

I was number 146 - and am now thorughly ashamed I didn't comment then.
It is very you - this style really suits you and you do it so well. This is another one for the growing Jamir collection on my PC.
Always a pleasure
