It Doesn't Mean Nothing

I watch what you do but you do what you please
It doesn’t mean nothing to me, It doesn’t mean nothing to me
you can make your life hard or you can live it with ease
It doesn’t mean nothing to me, It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It doesn’t mean nothing, it doesn’t mean nothing
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It’s all the same in the end, I’m everybody’s friend
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
you can choose what makes you happy, you can choose what makes you sad
It doesn’t mean nothing to me, It doesn’t mean nothing to me
it can make perfect sense or it can drive you frickin’ mad
It doesn’t mean nothing to me, It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It doesn’t mean nothing, it doesn’t mean nothing
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It’s all the same in the end, I’m everybody’s friend
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
you can listen to the laughter, you can listen to the screams
It doesn’t mean nothing to me, It doesn’t mean nothing to me
you can take the facts for granted, or say it’s not all what it seems
It doesn’t mean nothing to me, It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It doesn’t mean nothing, it doesn’t mean nothing
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It’s all the same in the end, I’m everybody’s friend
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
I’m never there but I’m always around
when you’re on top or when you’re down
in me you can find peace, in me you can find fear
keep me at a distance, or keep me near
It doesn’t mean nothing, it doesn’t mean nothing
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
you can think that life is perfect or you can think that life is odd
it doesn’t mean nothing to me, it doesn’t mean nothing to me
you can think that I’m almighty, or you can think that I’m a fraud
it doesn’t mean nothing to me, it doesn’t mean nothing to me
It doesn’t mean nothing, it doesn’t mean nothing
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
It’s all the same in the end, I’m everybody’s friend
It doesn’t mean nothing to me
Hi Neil,
Nice upbeat on the music. :D
As far as the lyrics, I don't understand. :?
This line is written backwards:
"in me you can find peace, in me you can find fear"
should be
"you can find peace in me, [and/or] you can find fear in me"
The rests seems conversational.

Thanks, James. I was more caught up in the rhyme at the time. Easily changed. Good catch.
Thanks again,
Neil
I like the music. An interesting style, sort of upbeat blues.
I have trouble with some of the lyrics. The very first line had me wondering how watching somebody could affect how that person acts. Maybe changing the "but" to "and" would help. Then I thought that maybe it's from the point of view of God. Because of some of the language, I then changed my mind, If that's right, it would account for the singer being "everybody's friend" and for being able to find peace or fear in him. It's just not clear who the singer is. In what religion does what we do mean nothing to God? Maybe I'm totally off track here.

I listened to this last week and rated it but didn't have time to comment. I like this work. The dynamics and syncopation of the guitar works very well with this.
