The system sends out a PM. I'm not sure of the exact words, but it's something like "Dear Twisted, I, Rahul, have decided that I'm going ignore you, in future. Signed Rahul.

Hey, we could use a second set of ranks for it. For every person that ignores you you get a point, with a few different titles. Like:

1-10: I'm somewhat irritating
11-20: I'm considered a pain in the rear by quite a few
21-30: Boy am I a jerk

etc etc.

I'm rather impressed by the self-regulation and self-restraint on GN. But, then, guitarists know their limits and self-improvement seems to rule...
