Title I,ll miss my mind

Walking down these concrete stairs
Out of a building built so strong
Just like our love once was
Those days are long gone
v2
The judge pretty much gave you everything
Except my truck and personal stuff
You even asked for that in there
I guess he figured you got enough
chorus
I never did like our old house
But I loved our backyard
All my beer and barbeques
Building a new live shouldnt be that hard
When we started out I didn't have much
At least I still have my clothes
Of all the things I lost today
I'll miss my mind the most
v3
I guess i'm happy to be free
These last two years been hell
As I reflect on what I lost today
I can't believe I'm taking this so well
v4
Sure theres things that I'll miss
Like my big screen T.V.
Suround sound in every room
I swear you bought for me
chorus
I never did like our old house
But I loved our backyard
All my beer and barbeques
Starting a new live shouldnt be that hard
When we started out I didn't have much
At least I still have my clothes
Of all the things I lost today
I'll miss my mind the most
v5
I'll miss my dog but she'll bring him here
When she visits her sister on the coast
Yeah theres alot I lost today
But I'll miss my mind the most
bridge
I cant believe I just gave up
I've always fought for whats mine
Maybe I was just rundown
I know I lost my mind
chorus
I never did like our old house
But I loved our backyard
All my beer and barbeques
Building a new live shouldnt be that hard
When we started out I didn't have much
At least I still have my clothes
Of all the things I lost today
I'll miss my mind the most

I'm guessing here a little, but from the last few songs you've posted sounds like you just went through a painful divorce and hit the booze - been there, done that,.......

Let her have the house, let her have the money, you got your songs and you got your guitar - but never, under any circumstances whatsoever, let the ex keep YOUR dog.......

I'd rather they kept the kids than the dogs.........

But that's just me....my dog was really sick last week, had to have a big operation...cost over £340......got the biopsy results back a couple of days ago, it wasn't cancer - just a chronic gut infection that anti-biotics will clear up......had her 10 years, had daughters 23, 21 and 17 years ....and who's been by my side when I've had the blues? I'm not ashamed to admit I cried my eyes out when I found out she was going to be OK........

You can love your kids to bits, but you'll only ever get unconditional love from your dogs......that's my theory, anyway.......

and guess who's sitting at my feet as I write?

:) :) :)

PS - good song, scans well, good lyrics......yeah, I like it!!!

Hi Vic, Glad you liked the song. But to tell you the truth I've been happily married for fourteen years and havent drank in along time. I just had the hook for a while . And when I decided to use it this is what transpired. Years ago I went the a bad divorce. And a long battle with drugs and alcohol. But I feel like I'm winnig now. And I get your meaning about the dog. Thanks for the reply. Ken.....................

I can hear the steel guitar and the southern drawl of the lyrics. Nice work Ken.

Best,

I really like this...but just a thought

Maybe change the line "But I loved our backyard" to But I loved MY back yard"

Kinda goes with the theme of My Beer and My barbeques.

Makes me think
Our house=relationship= not good
My Backyard=my possession and fun=good

I don't even know if what I wrote makes sense but that doesn't seem to stop me from writing it anyways.

Anyways...I think it real good either way.

Keep up the writing.
