I think you would be crazy to cover up that finish Simon. That guitar has a beautiful color/finish.

Doubly agree with Tracker. Thats a beautiful guitar. Why change it?

Jim

lol. Yeah it sure does look nice in that pic doesnt it?...And the pic that was on ebay when I got it...But in truth when you see it for yourself the blue is no where near as rich and bright as that, its in fact pretty dark and only a very bright summer sum beaming in can occasionally light it up like that. Shame. So I wanna go with some cool design...

Plus I chipped it in 6 places at once when my strap fell off, and I burnt a patch aswell (dont ask)

I loved that pic. It blew me away.

I would make it look like that again, if I could. 8)

Simple suggestion based on the fact it already looks good in the picture.

1) Repair the scratches/nicks with as close as possible a color.
2) Lightly sand the original paint
3) Clear coat it with a fine metallic
4) Clear coat it with a high gloss clear

Doing it this way you don't have to mess with stripping it.

Personally I've always wanted to see a guitar that was bright green with a bright yellow burst.

My current project is black around the edges with a red burst in the middle, and it looks pretty cool (if I didn't keep messing up the spraying and having to do it again).

Well Iv been quoted for a fancy design I came up with n it was £375...Little outta price range I'd get something more simple.
I was thinking about that red n black burst in fact, maybe trans' red.

I think a black edges with red sunburst would look really cool, but to throw it over the edge and make it your own, design a stencil for the sunburst!!!!! I've always wanted to do that to my ESP but I'm afraid to do it..

Is that what you mean?

No I mean like a stencial of say for instance the letter A... There would be a black A inside that sunburst. Could look very cool if you made something a little better than an A though.,...

Or it could be switched around so that there would be the red sunburst colour A in the black on the edges :D

Hey Simon,

I was looking into buying a custom motorcycle form a company called Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles.

If you check out their website the have pictures of all the custom painting they do on tanks(tank graphics). Maybe you can get some inspiration from one of those.

Here's the link: http://www.tmccycles.com

It should be up now. I can see the pic in my post.

I tried earlier and it's wasn't there, pic or site. Seams to be o.k. now.

Now that I think about it and look at it, mine is more dark brown on the outsides and a light redish-brown on the inside. Probably not what your looking for........oh well.......
