Info: Not exactly a subject I want to write on, but I am gonna try and steer it in another direction.

Theme: This is kindof a happier, coming home to you, country-esque blues song. Something different from my usual slowhand blues style.

"One Last Bite / Fishermans Blues" Written by: Patrick Eugene Stroup

Been sitting in the sun. (E) (4 whole notes)
Lord im bout to burn. (A5) (4 whole notes)
But damn i gotta get a bite. (E) (4 whole notes)

(my funny transition B chord is from low to high (0,2,1,2,0,0) Its played in an up down up motion twice.)

Casting my fishin line
Running out of daylight
But damn still nothin today.

Sitting in the silence
Broken by the cellphone
My sweet love is calling me home.

(chorus)
You tell me its time to leave (E) 4 wholes notes + (A5) palm muted upstrokes (3X)
But sweetheart, i got a lead. (E) + (B) 3x palm muted upstrokes
(E)Gimme 5 more minutes, (A) for one last bite.
And I'll drive this boat home to you. (E) 4 wholes notes

(B)

5 minutes pass by.
Lord I aint caught a fly.
Guess its time to head back home.

Im runnin out fishin bait.
Damn its getting late.
Oh crap, I just dropped my keys.

Walking my way home.
Man I had some fun.
But I still aint got a bite.

(final chorus)
You tell me its time to leave.
But sweetheart, I lost my keys.
Gimme 2 short hours, for one long walk.
And i'll be back at home with you.

(outro)

Like I said not my usual, but nothing depressing about fishing and coming home to the one you love now is there?

Kindof Jimmy Buffet Inspired if I do say so myself. Very simple enjoyable song.

I gotta tell you, I was doing the da-da-da--da thing along with it, and I think it's kinda "catchy". :::giggle:::

Nice work!

Gotta love a catchy fishing song with a good hook. And a pun run... :D

Dammit, I'm going to spend all this week mucking around enjoying playing other people's songs instead of writing my own.

I guess it did have a touch of the "White sport coat and a pink crustacean" feel, if I haven't muddled my references again...

Flashback,

Well except for the fact that you didn't catch the Big One I
see nothing depressing about your song.

Hey Flash,
well done, theres more to this song than meets the eye, I believe.
I like the light hearted nature of it, but what really strikes me is the balance of it. In the first half, the last chance to catch the fish, in the second half the last chance to catch the girl (jeez youd be in trouble if you didnt have your cellphone, lost your keys? yeah right  ).
Walking my way home.
Man I had some fun.
But I still aint got a bite.
nice bit of abiguity there, could be talking about the fish or the sweatheart, good stuff :D

I love this part of GN... I really enjoy this song. Definitly one I am gonna expand on or add some nice little acoustic bits. Maybe even pop in some bongos. :)

Thanks EVERYONE!

That was a lot of fun, Flash. I like it. And hell, I give you an 'A' just for making your enthusiasm come through in your posts. Sounds like you're havin' a blast. Thanks for not depressing me. Well done.

I have to say, its nice to actually get comments on my stuff. Hopefully once my mother and myself finish moving to our new house. I will start recording this song and a few others.
