So I wrote this one quite a while ago. It was actually one of the posts lost in the big update thing.... Anyway.. this one got recorded unexpectedly at my band's second show on August 28th. The sound guy recorded eveyone that night.. I had no idea that was going on til he walked up to me and handed me a CD and told me what it was.. SOO.. i took this from that and got it all prettied up and converted to mp3 and all taht... so here it is. Hope you guys enjoy it.

"My City"
My city sleeps tonight
And under our feet tonight
Her heart softly beats
And through all the cracks in the streets
She breaths
My city dreams tonight
Of flowers and trees tonight
All she used to be
And as the rain hits the concrete
She weeps
(chorus)
My city sleeps tonight
And as she dreams tonight
She holds me
and tells me that she loves me
Out on the streets tonight
where I'll fall asleep tonight
Where no one can see
These beautiful secrets she keeps
but me
(chorus)
She holds me
And tells me that she loves me.

Hi'a Marv,
As usual, your melody, effects and backing are really amazing, and.....
you write such great lyrics but I can't hear them.
Maybe it is my age or something, but I find most of todays music is loud backing and lost vocals. I know I am a folk fan but please explain this phenominon
Go well

hey marv,
it is great to get to hear people's work recorded. to know what the sound that the writter was thinking to go with the lyrics. like i have said before i have no music background so when i read lyrics i don't really have any idea what they would sound like sung. certainly different hearing them recorded than what it is like in my head.
good job regardless. keep up the good work. (like that even needs to be stated)
