Well I got the idea for this song during the discussion in the SSG assingment topic, so if you've read that (the first page and then some anyway) then try to interperut this one.

Clone

Angry ink, on an un-harmful slate.
What I wanted to start just didn't turn out that way.
The pencil stabs and makes it bleed.
Others frown, but it is healing me.

I know my it's hard to change my mind.
I wonder if this could be my last “waste of time”
Maybe I'm just full of angst or I've been taken wrong.
Just give me my one last chance to make my joyful song.

Emotions flow every time I sing.
And when I begin, it ends up with screams.
An opposite flavor dripped and mixed on the happy side.
A somatic difference in what my feelings hide.

I know my it's hard to change my mind.
I wonder if this could be my last “waste of time”
Maybe I'm just full of angst or I've been taken wrong.
Just give me my one last chance to make my joyful song.

I cannot describe why I act this way.
Maybe all my diagnostics can help me to explain.
Maybe if you took a trip back to see how I have lived.
Maybe you can give me help and show me what I have to gain.
Hold my hand and bring me to the person that I will become.
Take the lead, I'll follow you and see the things I should have done.
Trip your way to the Now. Approach the steps of my home.
A mirror opens up the door as I have now become your clone.

I know my it's hard to change my mind.
I wonder if this could be my last “waste of time”
Maybe I'm just full of angst or I've been taken wrong.
Just give me my one last chance to make my joyful song.

There's a thin fine line between hate and rage.
Now watch the line be crossed and break!

Hey Pierson

I have always enjoyed your songs, this one is no different. I really like the text I quoted above. I like the clever use of repetitive wording. It is so hard for me to hear a song from just reading the lyrics but I enjoyed the flow of the text. Would love to hear an MP3. :D

Nice song!

I can see what you mean about getting the inspiration from the assignment thread! :D

I agree with Geoo about the MP3, it would be good to see how you would sing it, in what style etc.

not much that stuck out that i can point out, maybe once i've heard the mp3

Thank you for your replies. I don't have anything to record it on, and I can't play guitar that well :( but all the music's in my head! Me and my friends are trying to start a band but it's hard because we're all amatures, except my friend jesse on drums, he's not bad.

It's kind of a rock melody (newer rock, not all screaming, kind of like three days grace.) Hope that helped.

Your first verse is absolutely amazing. It's been a while since I have read a verse so full of emotions like this. Hey, maybe it is just the place I am at in my life…or maybe I'm just easily amused? Lol.
Anyway great lyrics. I'll join the others in wanting to hear this one.
When it comes to start a band, we are basically all armatures here. Don't let that stop you. Go for it! It will give you more pleasure than you ever could imagine playing with someone, no matter how good/bad you think you are. And you definitely have songwriting talents and that's a great start.
Blessings. Olav

Hi Pierson,

I liked it a lot too. :) Some good strong original images and wording. I particularly liked "Angry ink", and what followed. It was a good solid punchy opening verse. And a great ending to.

Like the others, I'd really like to hear this one. If you're not set up to record it, maybe you could find a collaborator and give it a go?
