Greetings All – (I won't be so long winded next time!) My very first Song and post! I've been poking around this forum for a few weeks and love the activity that it creates. A lot of diverse personalities that makes for many creative differences. Cool!!!

DHodge – I've been a fan for quite some time – learned many of your songs on this site and managed to pick up quite a bit of theory along the way – a resounding “Peace” right back at you. :!:

My first song so feel free to rip it apart…
While the person to animal associations in the song are by no means original – I assure you the song is, the versus' will alternate between major and minor chord voicings with a finger style picking (probably). I need to get registered on Soundclick to get an mp3 up there…..please critique away….

The Lion and the Dove

I look at the world through teary eyes
Says the Lion to the Dove
They burn the mountain's majesty
That was given from above

What's so hard about the parable
Love your brother as yourself
Sometimes it seems they would rather kill
And in turn they kill themselves

I love them all so very much
yes Everything that breaths
you see I was meant to walk with them
Through the tall grass and the trees

Life wasn't meant to be so hard
The Lion thought that day
Innocent and simple love
Was supposed to be the way

Now don't you get me wrong my friend
I'll not rest ‘til they're all free
I will not give up on them
you see I want them here with me

Now beautiful Dove will you go to them
And let the know that I'm still here
And that if they let me in their hearts
Then there's nothing they need to fear

Instrumental – Lead over a couple versus

I look at the world through teary eyes
Says the Lion to the Dove
They burn the mountains majesty
That was given from above

What's so hard about the parable
Love your brother as yourself
Sometimes it seems they would rather kill
And in turn they kill themselves

Kkillam

Welcome to Guitarnoise and SSG

It's nice to all the new faces here lately

Excellent Job for a newbie or anyone for that matter.

I read through it twice and don't see anything I would
change.

I would love to hear this so get on over to Soundclik
and get this posted.

Looking forward to more

Thanks Celt, I can see you're a regular/respected member.

I work on an Air Force base and FOX NEWS/CNN is on everywhere - And if you watch enough of those channels you'll definitely wonder what the heck's going on in this world!!!! Wasn't sure about this direction for my first post but hey - When it's on your mind, write a song about it!! right?!?

Thanks for the Welcome!

Welcome and be as long winded as you'd like - this is a writer's page after all

And I'll echo John's sentiments on the new "faces" - I hope we'll be reading much more from you in the future.

While, as you note, the animal references may not be original (after this much recorded history, it's hard to imagine any that are), you do manage to pull them off in an understated manner, which makes for a good read. Looking forward to getting to hear this in the near future.

Peace

Hi Kelly,

welcome to the forum. For a first song your definitely off to a great start. Reminds me a lot of the "Chronicles of Narnia" and Azlan. In Narnia as in this song, for me the Lion is a reference to God. What I think would be nice in this song is to have a stanza that says why letting the Lion/God/Love into their lives would be a good thing.

great job

cheers

Hi and welcome to our musical mad house

Just add me in to the growing number of fans you are generating

In Australia ( my country ) we had a primeminister whose favourite line was ,

Life wasn't meant to be easy

Everyone would say " He doesn't have to make life this bloody hard either " ......

I had a little chuckle when I read your line

Life wasn't meant to be so hard

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
