Well I just stumbled upon a chorus, which doesn't even suit the week's assignment so my apologies :P

I can't work out the verse though, this is faster and more aggressive than my usual stuff so I can't manage to switch back from this to a verse :S

I also have half a bridge in the middle, haha

You can see them in the distance
You can see them get beneath your skin
There's one way in

You can see that they're pretending
You can see it's never ending
And their lies
Their lies are breaking down

Oh and it never gets any easier
When they play you to their tune

You can see them in the distance
You can see them get beneath your skin
There's one way in
There's always been

Hi Jay,

It's pretty coded lyrics :?

You can see them in the distance
You can see them get beneath your skin
These seem to contradict...."them" is far and near at the same time?

Their lies are breaking down (This seems "They" are not successful as the lies are "breaking down")
Oh and it never gets any easier (Never gets easier for who...them or you?)
When they play you to their tune (This seems "They" are successful as they are "playing you")

It reads like you have an idea in place, but a bit more clarification/details could be helpful to the reader/listener.

Thanks for sharing.

James

Hi,

agree with James, there isn't really any clue that can help me figure out what you're writing about. Makes me think of a group of undesirable people, maybe vampires, or drug addicts, or hustlers.

There seem to be some contradictions...

"in the distance" vs "beneath your skin" - which one is it, because they can't be both... unless you want to make the point that there was a sudden transition, they just crept up on you without you noticing.

"it's never ending" vs "breaking down" - if their lies break down then surely it wasn't never ending?

Anyway, keep at it, and maybe when you have verses it will shed more light on the meaning.
