Hi,

Ok so I used one of my own titles from earlier, but it has been in my
head for quite some time before that. Kind of odd I tried working on this all week with not much luck or time for that matter. Last night while driving home from work I found a tape in the car and threw it in.
( One of my daughter's Jam Bands ) Anyways I started jamming lyrics over this groove and this what came out. It's not at all what I was thinking when I came up with the title but that's been happening alot lately.

When Tomorrow's Only Yesterday

You can Blame it on the weatherman
or you can blame it on the season
You can blame it on my loud mouthed friends
I'm sure you've got good reason
You can blame it on the stupid things
I sometimes say and do
But when tomorrow's only yesterday
There will still be blame for you

I fell out of love before
I think I know the signs
I fell out of love before
This is just another of those "Gosh Darn" times

You can blame it on the things I've said
Or the way I wear my clothes
You won't blame it on that fine white line
You keep puttin' up your nose
You can blame it on the stupid things
I sometimes say and do
But when tomorrow's only yesterday
There will still be blame for you

I fell out of love before
I think I know the signs
I fell out of love before
This is just too many of those "Gosh Darn" times

You can Blame it on the weatherman
or you can blame it on the season
You can blame it on my loud mouthed friends
I'm sure you've got good reason
You can blame it on the stupid things
I sometimes say and do
But when tomorrow's only yesterday
There will still be blame for you

I like everything but the "gosh darn" but maybe if I heard it I would change my mind. Is there an explanation for it? Anyway nicely done.

Thanks Guys

"Gosh Darn" is self censorship but you've probably guessed that
already. I don't usually go for cursing in songs but feel some kind of explitive works here so we can consider "Gosh Darn" a space holder for now if that helps.

Hi Celt,
This song was interesting for me on a couple of levels, in terms of what I felt reading it. In verse 1 I thought, yeah this is ok, the repeated “You can blame it” ‘s work well. The chorus was fine – I substituted the appropriate word for “Gosh Darn” . Then verse 2, I have to admit that I was worried about another set of “You can blame it” 's , then these lines hit me over head, whack!
You won't blame it on that fine white line
You keep puttin' up your nose
Perfect placing for those lines. The fact that you don't allude to that again in the song works really well for me. You've planted that seed in our heads, enough said. Well done.

I think the song works well, good job.

Hey the Celt,

Fav line:
But when tomorrow's only yesterday
There will still be blame for you

Bam. That's a great way to go to the chorus and to close the song. Good work.

Besides that, I agree with pbee, as usual.

First, with the "white line" line. It hit me the same way.

Second, with the abundance of "you can blame it"s. Maybe instead of 'you can blame' in the second verse try 'tried to blame'. Its a break, and it captures the idea that you obviously aren't buying her/his excuses.

Thank's Guys

Haven't been around this week spent some time in the great outdoors
camping with my lovely wife. Had a great time fishing, canoeing and
playing guitar by the camp fire. I like Slowplay's suggestion I may have to give it a try and see if I can get it recorded

Take Care
