This doesn't feel 100% polished, but it's about time I posted a new song. Otherwise, who knows? The world might end before I ever get round to it...

The world ends tonight
That's officially a fact
Headlines and deadlines
No time to react
I look down to the street
Desperate souls on the move
And all I can think of is you

I don't have your address
I don't have your phone
Just a hatful of memories
That always live on
I look to the sky
More black now than blue
And all I can think of is you

The mountains are crumbling
The seas are on fire
Have you one last confession?
Have you one last desire?
I look in my heart
For a sign or a clue
And all I can think of is-

All the years we've been trapped by our fears
Or caught up in destructive old ways
Oh I'd trade it all just to give you a call
Feel the sand in my feet for a couple more days...

The world ends tonight
For better or worse
We lived in our moment
On this green planet earth
Our friends and our families
Are here to cling to
But all I can think of is you

All I can think of is you...
All I can think of is you...
All I can think of is you...
All I can think of is you...

Hey Martin,

nice take on the assignment, I like the way you have personalised it, I kind of think that most people would feel something like this in the same situation. I think that for humans to comprehend the end of all things is too much but the loss of a friend/lover in this context is more real, well done.

Cheers
Paul

Good start :D Like Paul, I like the personal touch.

I also like how you end the verses with "And all I can think of is you"
I look to the sky
More black now than blue
I like this

The mountains are crumbling
The seas are on fire
and this, too.

Suggestions
A couple of lines tripped me up.

I don't have your phone -maybe > I don't have your number

Just a hatful of memories
-maybe > just a head full of memories
or
just a heart full of memories
or
just ghosts and memories
or
just a ghost of a memory

Feel the sand in my feet for a couple more days...
-maybe > Feel the sand in between my toes for a couple more days...
or
Feel the sand between my toes for a couple more days...

Keep at it. It's a good one

James
