Words You Never Said
So I wonder did you ever smile?
Looks like you're dying for a cigarette.
Look at you standing there half-naked,
half-painted in the silent air.
I map you out a history
where your mystery stills the smokey air
And I wonder where I draw the line.
Feels like I'm playing to the gallery.
Look at me scratching at the canvas,
can you just hold it there?
How I mis-spend your time,
dreaming a war crime just hanging there.
Its a hard memory,
a hard memory,
I am frightened of the pictures in my head.
Art is for the heart to paint a picture onto words
you never said.
So I wonder why I wanted you.
Tastes like I'm swallowing your misery.
Look at us hellbent on melody,
off-key - this is the song we share.
Bruised lips and turpentine
entwined beyond repair
Its a hard memory,
a hard memory,
I am frightened of the pictures in my head.
Art is for the heart to paint a picture onto words
you never said.
Cheers,
HagRider
Hi Hagrider,
Good start :D
I like the idea of the viewer saying a picture "spoke" to them, but it's with "words never said"....so how the viewer fills in the missing lines.
What kind of music do you hear for these lyrics? I could imagine something along the lines of Smashing Pumpkins......maybe like this

I'm looking forward to hearing this.
Am a right that the singer is painting the picture? I like it.

Finally catching up on the actual recording stage....

Yes, Renee, the singer is painting a portrait, and in the absence of any real interaction from the subject is making up a history.
I know there are some extreme bum guitar notes in there - but am consoling myself with the idea that the jarring goes with the theme (sort of).
Cheers,
HagRider
nice job. I like your melodies at the end of the song the most.
Fantastic :D
I love these lines
Art is for the heart to paint a picture onto words
you never said.
