I Took no Judas silver
A couple of friends they wanted something more
Something more than they had
So they decide to commit robbery
Even though one of them thought that it was mad
for weeks and weeks they hatched a plan
A plan to steal an armoured van
They never had nothing but this one chance
To stick it to the man
And when that fatefull night it finally fell
Their nerves began to tell
But they all found courage in there deepest depths
To leave this poor mans hell
Then they left there safe house
On the southside of town
One of them still thought that it was mad
And he wore a frown
The van pulls up outside the bank
The guards have their helmets on
The armed gang all leap out
An they’ve got balaclavas on
But some thing didn’t feel quiet right
They knew it was a sting
Blue and red lights they where flashing bright
The sirens began to ring
It was mad it was chaotic
There was gunshots in the night
The gang they turned tail and ran
They couldn’t win this fight
Now everybody they got away
Everybody except for one
He lay on the ground in a bloodstained mack
The police they shot him in the back
For weeks the cops they hassled him
From his hospital bed
They wanted him to give up those
For whom that he had bled
Well they dubbed him the quiet man
Because he didn’t speak a word
Deal after deal they offered him
But his honour was unperturbed
Well I took no judas silver
For my dignity and pride
I’m layed out in a jail cell
Sometimes I feel sad
Surely by now you can tell
I’m the one who thought
that it was mad
And i'll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it and reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it.- Bob Dylan,a hard rains gonna fall
Well, it's loaded with good ideas and plenty of ptential, but I can't get hold of it as a song yet.
Got it in a form we can listen to?
Best,
A :-)

I agree.
I really like the story, but I couldn't feel it as a song. It keeps coming off more spoken to me.
I'd be real interested in hearing this to music.

I don't think I'm a lot dumber than you think that I thought I once was - White Goodman (Dodgeball)
its quite simple, a wee kinda folk song telling a story.
just c em dm c repeated all the way through the song.
each four lines are one verse.
and ive added a line to the end so it now reads
well i took no judas silver
learned my lessons good and bad
im layed out in a jail cell
sometimes im feeling sad
surely by now you've worked it out
im the one who thought that it was mad
well i took no judas silver
and for that at least im glad.
And i'll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it and reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it.- Bob Dylan,a hard rains gonna fall
leave it with me and i'll try to get something posted that you can listen to.

Same here some real good writing. But all I can do is read it. Icant find a way to sing it. You got talent, just lay it out in a song format so we can get a feel for the tune. Keep writing. Nite...........................
lyrics belong in songs, poems bolong in bookstores
