Originally I planned to be more overt this week, but you know how songs can be sometimes.
As always, you can hear it at:

Dig

Steal another promise from the sunrise
Try to pay down the debt I owe
Could take it, make it worth the rising
Instead each day I bury a little more
But the grave robber finds it, dig it up, dig it up

Lines close-up in the mirror
Proof of purchase of a misspent youth
Cause I find out in the garden
A row of broken promise where my wild oats took root
I'd like to have 'em back, dig it up, dig it up

You're looking for the highlight reel, give it up, give it up
I'm looking for the time you steal, dig it up, dig it up

The sun'll come up tomorrow
That's the line you fed me yesterday
Now I'm staring at the knots in my pine ceiling
Never made it back to clean the mess I made
Grave digger take me, dig it up, dig it up

Ice cream is a dish best served cold.

Well, I'm trying to think of something gritty and crictical to say but, alas, all I can report is that I liked it. :)

You seem to have a knack for coming up with good "hooky" singable lyric lines. They do tell a fuller story if the listener cares to... ummm.. dig.... a little into the song, but if you only listen casually they still paint pretty much the same picture in an abstract sort of way.

I particularly liked:

Lines close-up in the mirror
Proof of purchase of a misspent youth
Cause I find out in the garden
A row of broken promise where my wild oats took root
I'd like to have 'em back, dig it up, dig it up

Some of us don't need to look "close-up" to see those lines though...

This is just outstanding 8) Im jealous I wish I had written it. Your guitar work is spot on and the lyrics are great, especially the "dig it up"'s. Well done man :D .

Genious. Loved the guitar work and loved the lyrics even more. My hat off to you. Keep it up!

There's a thin fine line between hate and rage.
Now watch the line be crossed and break!

Hey, thanks everyone... I'm glad you liked it. It was tough writing, so it's great to get some positive feedback.

You seem to have a knack for coming up with good "hooky" singable lyric lines.

Thanks, Chris. It's no particular genious of my own, it's just a by-product of the way I write. I set down with my voice and my guitar and only pull out the pen and paper (or keyboard) once I've come up with something that I like. (It probably also has something to do with ingesting countless hours of Bryan Adams music when I was in highschool... man can that guy write a hook! :) )

wow, slowplay, I dig it;)
it's absolutely beautiful, the lyrics alone with lines like:
Steal another promise from the sunrise
Cause I find out in the garden
A row of broken promise where my wild oats took root
The sun'll come up tomorrow
That's the line you fed me yesterday

amazing.
listening to it was as always a pleasure:)

cheers,
