Hello, friends. I worked this one out based on the Party concept, but took it someplace a little - let's say - different. Before you ask, I am not on medication and do not require therapy. In case you are wondering, I thought this song might be best sung by Barry Manilow - LOL!! Enjoy...
Acronymic Prisoner
V1:
Prancing in the spotlight
A shy and lonely boy
Rather unattractive
Tending to be coy
Yelling out to momma…
C1:
Only if you'd cared
Never bought me decent clothes
V2:
People laughing loudly
A really nasty scene
Remembers fantasizing
To realize his dream
Yells to the oppressors…
C2:
October I will dress up in fatigues
November first we'll share headlines together
BR:
Did anybody ever wonder?
Ultimatums given – not a bluff
Did anybody hear the thunder?
Every trigger pulled – serious stuff
V3:
Prisoner of the clique
A man-child in living hell
Remembering his reasons
Telling stories from his cell
Your worst nightmare-come-true
Wow. In a million years, I would never have thought of that approach, SJ. But it's a very very cool take on the assignment. I don't have the faintest idea how it would sound, or be sung, but it was surely an interesting read, and an incredibly clever way of doing it.
Be excellent, dude.

lol, took me a while to figure out where the acronyms came in, took me a while to figure out exactly what was going on as well, but i'm glad i did. very nice take on the topic.
however the 2nd chorus jarred a bit with me, the line:
'Never bought me decent clothes' appears to me more a statement of fact rather than still addressing you mother.
i think it would flow better as 'you never bought me decent clothes' if u can fit the extra word in.
rob :)
You gave it away a bit with the title......!!!
Really good lyrics, there are no real stand out lines.......the only thing that jars a little are the very different lengths of the two choruses, but I honestly couldn't think of a better way to put them......
Good one!!!

Acronyms are not my strong point so it took a couple of readings to get what was going on. Brilliant! What a great exersise and a great song also.
Oh I was about to believe that stuff about not needing medication or therapy until you mentioned Barry Manilow. :D    :D
Great Job

Hi SJ
Serious stuff but elegantly done. Would love to know how you hear this in your head as it makes for good reading but doesn't instantly give me a rhythm or style.
Good stuff all the same and quite a 90 degree take on the assignment.
