Half-way
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7553242
Why so gloom on this sunny afternoon?
I hear it in your voice you're sounding kind of blue
Let's go talk at our favorite ice-cream shop
We'll get a booth for two you know I'm here for you
Chorus
I'm half-way through a Sunday
But I'll save the rest for you
I'm half-way through a Sunday
But I'll spend the best with you
Hot fudge, sprinkled nuts with a cherry on top
I love the way you tongue-tie the stem into a knot
Spoil dinner leave your worries at the door
I'll be there to listen that's what friends are for
chorus
instrumental
That's much better with your frown turned up side down
This one's on me; let's take a stroll through town
There's still time to look at heaven only knows
But before we leave, wipe the whip cream off your nose
chorus
Heh, really like it. Simple and it all fits together really well.
My only suggestion would be
"leave our worries at the door" -> "leave your worries at the door"
Since for the rest of the song it's always about "your" (the girl's?) feelings, as in "your frown turned up side down" "you're sounding kind of blue"
Just nit picking though, great recording.
Jay,
Thanks for the reply and suggestion. and please continue to nit pick away I appreciate it
>"leave our worries at the door" -> "leave your worries at the door"
You have a very valid point about the change. I thought about that line when I was writing it...my concern would be that it would sound less authentic as a friendship....and feeling more like seeing a shrink in the office instead of 2 friends venting at an ice-cream shop..."our" seemed more empathetic.....but I will definitely keep thinking it through.
Thanks again. :D
James
Cute, James . . . cute.
Are the kids dancing around when you record . . . or is it a no-fly zone when recording?
Hey, before I leave . . . wipe that grin off your face :?

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
James,
I like it even if I have to come up with a new idea.
I enjoy the double on the Sunday/Sundae imagery.
I understand both views on the our/your line.
My personal preference would be for your.
It seems the song is about you giving of yourself for
this other person.
Use of the word your would reinforce that idea. IMHO

Sometimes yes...sometimes no....this one was a no fly zone time....one has a stomach virus the other has "no tv privaleges for a week"....the other was.... :? I don't know where he was :? [not in a very upbeat mood in the house]
....but if you listen closely to the end of "Niquiwi Burning" you can hear dramatic music and screaming [from the movie] as they were watching Mulan 2 in the room because the wife wanted the other tv for CNN...I thought it added a dramatic touch to the song
Hey, before I leave . . . wipe that grin off your face
Wipe indeed

John,
Sorry, my friend. Looks like I owe you a trip to the ice-cream shop
I enjoy the double on the Sunday/Sundae imagery
I kind of stumbled onto it...I was having a hard time finding an angle for "half-way" so something just clicked to word play with another word then associate it....
Use of the word your would reinforce that idea. IMHO
Jay and John,
Ok guys "your" it is!
Thanks all for the feedback! :D
James

Dylan,
Thanks for the listen and feedback. I was just about to post the change of the word "our" to "your" then I take a look-see at yours.
James

I like the play on words that you use. It's cool, and easy. Something that anybody can pick up.
Thanks for the listen and post :D
