Greetings,
A little Blues tune for this week.
I think I read it on a bumper sticker
I didn't intend for it to be a Lost Love song.
The voices made me do it.
I Miss My Mind The Most
I use to be a carefree guy
Running with the crowd
Listening to Rock and Roll
That was played a little loud
But somethings sure are different
Since I lost touch with you
The radio inside my head
Now only plays the Blues
I've lost my sense of purpose
I've lost my will to care
The last bit of my sanity
Has vanished in the air
I've lost at cards
I've lost at love
Lost friends from coast to coast
But of all the things I've lost in life
I miss my mind the most
I use to wake up with a smile
And greet the new born day
Walk out in the sunshine
Watch the children play
But somethings sure are different
Since the day you said goodbye
All I do is lay in bed
And keep on asking why
I've lost my sense of purpose
I've lost my will to care
The last bit of my sanity
Has vanished in the air
I've lost at cards
I've lost at love
Lost friends from coast to coast
But of all the things I've lost in life
I miss my mind the most
The whiskey doesn't satiate
The voices in my head
The Prozac doesn't take away
Those last words that you said
The Doctors say to medicate
The Preacher says to pray
The neighbors think I've lost control
So they just stay away
I use to be a well dressed man
Dressed with grace and style
Always up on fashions trends
But it sure has been a while
Cause somethings sure are different
Since you've been on the scene
Now I tend to hang around
In dirty sweats and holey jeans
I've lost my sense of purpose
I've lost my will to care
The last bit of my sanity
Has vanished in the air
I've lost at cards
I've lost at love
Lost friends from coast to coast
But of all the things I've lost in life
I miss my mind the most
I've lost at cards
I've lost at love
Lost friends from coast to coast
But of all the things I've lost in life
I miss my mind the most
I miss my mind the most
John
I was going to recommend some revisions until I heard it. You pulled it off very well!
I got nothing John
This just put simply blows me away
I love the tune / the lyrics are just so nice
The chorus is dead set gold mate ...
Would love to hear it with a group behind you { drum / keyboard etc }
This is one of your best in my opinion
Cheers
Trevor
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
John,
man this is sooooo good, 10/10 from me. I just love hearing that confidence you've found in your voice, Im with Barney it blew me away.
Excellent job all round probably your best that Ive heard (although I still like Analogue Man and Dancing Girl Blues)
cheers
Paul
Outstanding work Celt
If I have one thing I could put my finger on it would be the first half of the intro,
the descending part of it. I did not think it quite fit the rest of the intro. Other than that
this one is fantastic.

I love it! That was awesome, great lyrics. I love the mellow feel and also think it would sound great pumping it up with a full band. I have one minor minor suggestion. In the first verse, instead of 'a little loud' just saying 'too loud.' Says a little more that you use to have no caution.
My favorite verse:
The Doctors say to medicate
The Preacher says to pray
The neighbors think I've lost control
So they just stay away
It's not easy being green.... good thing I'm purple.
Wow, awesome lyrics, John. I'll listen to it later when I get home. You might want to change somethings to some things. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing. It's great.

Too funny. I have this title written in my "to write someday" song book. I really liked the saying when I heard it. It stuck in my mind but I am not even sure where I originally heard it. Your song sounds good, I like what you have done with it.

Holy crap, John... I stick my head out for a few weeks and I come back to find you singing an order of magnitude better than I remember. Awesome recording.
Ice cream is a dish best served cold.
Well - you went and did it again, my man - talkin' blues, 21st Century style......
Dylan, Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie would be proud of this one......
I'll stop now - don't want to get you all swollen-headed.......
Good stuff indeed!
:D :D :D

PS - Keep listening to the voices!!!!!

Thank You All
That's all I can say I'm really overwhelmed with the response to this one.
