A little bit of seasonal fun played to a fast 4/4 ala The Ramones
I Want A Guitar For Christmas
There's this wish i've had since i was a boy
That Santa would bring me my favorite toy
A Fender Stratocaster all shiny and new
I've been good for a year or two
Don't want no choo choo train or no GI Joe
I got plenty of those a couple years ago
Santa if you want to be my star
Leave under my tree an electric guitar
I want a guitar for Christmas
Said I what a guitar this Christmas
I don't even need no fancy amp
I'll just plug it right into my Fender Champ
I want a guitar
An electric guitar
I don't have no use for a remote control car
I want something I can play like a Rock & Roll star
There's milk and cookies out and I'm heading to bed
I hope that Santa heard every word I've said
For if my Chritstmas wish come out exact
Next year I'm gonna want a recording contract
I want a guitar for Christmas
Said I what a guitar this Christmas
I don't even need no fancy amp
I'll just plug it right into my Fender Champ
I want a guitar
An electric guitar
I want a guitar...

Very nice! And I think I speak for everyone on the forum when I say you've read all our minds
This is very funny stuff:
For if my Christmas wish comes out exact
Next year I'm gonna want a recording contract
The AABB form fits this song very well.
Rock on!
Christiaan.
ABSOLUTELY!
Rock ON!
Loved it. Fast, Rock'n'Roll, Guitars. No better case of lyrics dictating form than this!!!
Also, if there's no guitar solo right after this:I want something I can play like a Rock & Roll star I'm gonna die.
Slowly and painfully.
If only every 'little bit of seasonal fun' was this good, supermarkets around Christmas might not be such a headphone-inducing experience.
You might be able to tell, I quite enjoyed that. Really a Strat? I want a PRS Hollowbody, but they cost more money than Santa's probably ever seen. Ah well...

Listen Louder Than You Play
you tripped me out dude!
I give A+ for wit.
Indeed a fun song and you hit the nail on the head by calling it "A little bit of seasonal fun played to a fast 4/4 ala The Ramones"
I even went to the extent of putting some chords to it to find out what would sound cool :p
Only thing though - as with any strictly rhyming song IMHO - is that some of the rhymes are arguably forced. Not a lot though... just a few :)
But all in all, a fun holiday song :)
finally an honest christmas song - none of this world peace love understanding reindeer bells snow lark!
i like they way u use the train, GI Joe etc to contrast with the guitar, it works well for the generations who have grow out if them - though may loose u fans with the under 6's!
all in all very enjoyable
i hope u get the fender come saturday ;)

Hey that was great. Might even be marketable with a little more work. Really, I think you could get a bite with this one....However, being an acoustic man I'd have to change the first two versers a little.....
There's this wish i've had since i was a boy
That Santa would bring me my most favorite toy
An all shiny and new Taylor 912CE
I've been good for so many a year
I don't want no choo choo train or no GI Joe
I got plenty of those years ago
Santa if you want to be my shinning star
Leave under my tree an acoustic Taylor guitar
Well, you get the picture. Good work, I really enjoyed this one.....

Thank You All for the comments.
I don"t think there will be a guitar under my tree this year.
My wife suffers from the mistaken impression that five guitars two amps and one PA is enough.
I wish you all a Safe and Happy Holiday.
